Our first stop – and we quickly learned that everyone calls this city Tanna – much easier to pronounce. Madagascar’s average monthly wage is $30 and it’s evident in the overcrowded living conditions and crime in the city. Walking back to our Airbnb at night was not always a pleasant experience, but it is a vibrant and exciting place to explore!
